Rarely Seen Image of 15 year old Maharaja Duleep Singh
Here’s a rarely seen image of 15 year old Maharaja Duleep Singh at Osborne House (UK) on August 23rd, 1854. This is the same year Maharaja Duleep Singh was kidnapped and brought over to England and taken away from his homeland of Punjab.
Duleep Singh was Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s youngest son and came to power at the age of 5 after the assassinations of four of his predecessors.
Thirteen years after his mother Jind Kaur was imprisoned and exiled, Maharaja Duleep Singh would meet his mother again and she would often tell him of the Empire of the Sikhs that once was under his father.
